Partenheimer Sr, Harold "Steve"
A Greenfield, Mass. high school third baseman who went on to Amherst College for four years varsity and senior captain (1906-13). Signed by Detroit Tigers out of Amherst and after stint with Tigers played three years in New York State League before turning to coaching on industrial level. Formed Gordon Drug Aces B team in Akron in 1933 as a sponsor and manager and also worked with Akron Jays, Sohio A.C. and the Killian Celtics. Was elected to the all time 100 year Amherst-Williams Baseball Team. He didn't limit his instructional talents to his own teams, but gave advice freely to opponents who sought his knowledge of the game. He joins his sons Hal & Stan in our Hall of Fame.
